BRINGING THE FIRE BACK
I have a new training video out today which continues my series on character modeling. Moving from parts one and two, where we modeled the head and then the torso, we will this time be getting into construction of the arm and hand. You will see some new uses of the standard tools come into play this time around, and as subdivision modeling goes, I think, no matter what application you use, you'll get a great concept of how you can build your characters. On another note, I had a strange dream from which I recently awoke. This was one of those things that would make for something like those Stephen King mini-series that air from time to time on TV. It had all the earmarks like scattered people or family units across the nation experiencing the same catastrophic event in different ways, and living through the aftermath. The funny thing is, unlike n the past, it didn't dawn on me immediately that this should be a story I put to animation!
In the past I had many dreams which seemed to beckon me to make animation of them. Upon waking up with such vivid images in my mind, I would try to capture them all on paper (or in a text file) before they faded away. Even now I remember some great ones that had me waking up with excitement. Some were stories too big for one-man projects, and the like, but many were still exciting and cool ideas. The dream I just had was no different. The thing that puzzles me was that I didn't see it.
I am not worried. The fact that I had a dream like this, which I don't recall experiencing since I left the U.S., shows that my fire is coming back. I also note that, in this case, the images didn't fade either. I still remember it well even now. I can't say that this is what I will make next, but I am seriously considering it. I do know that I will definitely make something, and I suspect it will be very soon.
