REPORT

I've been saying that a trailer was coming for a long time and finally its time to deliver. I am not exactly happy with it, still, but I am starting to think I may have lost my sense of leaving well enough alone. It was that sense, after all, that got a project like Chaos, however imperfect, done.

That said, those who read this site might be happy to find the trailer here.

Bear in mind that if one considers the scope of the book of Daniel, and that of Revelation, you are looking at a very long term project here. It will require a considerable amount of research and take quite a bit of time to realize. Other projects will most certainly happen in that time.

I will be chiefly focusing on my efforts to enter into the Asian market with new products, and I still plan to do a "one-man anime feature" at some point. There's certainly a lot in the works. Even this page will be changing yet again.

I have put up my old anime show reel here. What's the reason? Well, I most certainly plan to do a new one. Imagine, it's been two years since this reel was done. Since that time I have Hartz, J4A, Daniel, bits of Occult Salvation and footage from a number of experiments to add. I think a new reel could look really good.

In my September 23rd 2003 post, when I redid my page then, I noted that my "services" page was going away. Well, now almost a year later, that page will return. In order to fund bigger a better projects, including a live action idea or two that I have, it's time to bring in bigger and better funds. I get great offers to do anime style commercial spots or other projects on occasion. I have even been sent scripts from industry majors to do projects. How much greater then if I make it known that I can do such work? This is what I will be doing for the remainder of the month. I will do a new reel and a new services page.

The most important thing in all of this, however, is the indie project. This year is more than half over. If I had done even one scene per day on a single project, maybe a feature project, how much would I have done now? If I had done two scenes per day, the average rate of Chaos, then where would I be?

The Associated Press reports that Sony plans to unveil the long-awaited third incarnation of the popular PlayStation game console at next year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles. Sony has kept details about the PlayStation 3 tightly under wraps as rivals Microsoft and Nintendo also develop next-generation versions of their game machines.

The PS2 currently leads the market by a wide margin, but due to incredible price cuts, the Xbox from Microsoft and the GameCube have been finding their way into more homes. Sony has, this time, kept specs on the new unit under wraps as Microsoft and Nintendo also develop their next generation consoles.

My guess is that because Sony ended being technically bested by the Xbox this time around, though it clearly had no effect on sales or quality game content, they'll try to come out the sure leader for the third go around.

In other news, my email is fixed and working again, although I am not! Actually I have been catching up on some much needed reading and research for a future project while my computer is busy capturing and encoding video. I hope to get back to finishing up the promised trailer in the very near future.

For those who may be wondering, there are some problems with the email server where I am hosting. I can receive email, but I cannot send it. I talked to support on the phone and they are working to correct the problem. I guess its just a matter of waiting.

As for the new trailer, it won't be much longer now. Another issue has distracted me, but I should get back to wrapping it up tomorrow. I have a lot of interesting ideas and insights which I will be putting up here very soon. Much of this is based on looking back at the past six months.

I hope everyone had a great holiday. Independence is a wonderful thing and who doesn't really want it in all aspects of life?

As for me, all the puzzle pieces are together for the new trailer. The music is done. The narration is done. Everything is on the timeline. There only remains the need to clean it all up and finally mix it. This could easily be done today, but I am taking another day off! :)

I've been thinking about a lot of things over the last few days. My direction being one of them, but chiefly thinking about rushing. Am I in a hurry to get somewhere? Pulling of Understanding Chaos in about a month was quite an accomplishment. I often find myself thinking, If I were doing something full time, how much more could be done? Really, though, how much faster do I need to be?

I think this line of thinking led me to create impossible schedules which leads to impossible goals. What's the rush? It's not like World War III is about to happen and the world is going to end right? :)

Seriously, I think its time to think about settling down, slowing down, and pounding out something long term.

Somewhere, at a major studio, instead of working on important film projects, the people are making images like this.
