THOUGHTS AND PATHS
So here we are well into 2007 and I spent most of the month thinking. As I look back, especially considering my year end reviews, there is one thing that keeps jumping out at me.
I can tell you of a certainty that next year will see the creation of my first one-man feature...
That was written in the 2003 year end review. Someting similar has stuck with me in every review since. I think there is flow of things that is not met when something like this is ignored or circumvented. This has for a time been what I relly should have been doing. This is not to say that time since then was wasted. The feature I can make right now today is leagues beyond what would have been done if I started back then. Everything builds and each experience accumulates to lead to a point of change.
Anigen is not finished. It will likely always exist in some form or another. I have at least two long form Anigen videos at different stages of completion. I can't say when I will complete them or get them out yet, but the concept is not going to die. It is an integral part of what I do.
2007 may bring other opportunities for change. Perhaps a major trip overseas, meeting new contacts and strengthening my potential position with any feature project I create. One thing is for sure. If I do travel, or even move, I will, this time have a nice camera with which to document things for this blog.
Right now, and for most of January, I am and have been doing something I have missed for a long time. I am just watching cool movies. Titles like Versus, The Covenant, Alive, Skyhigh (Japanese manga based film), The Protector, Azumi, Death Trance. The Celestine Prophecy, Hollow Man, Snakes on a Plane and more are reinvigorating my passion for the feature format. I remember how much I have wanted to be there. Also seeing trailers for the live action Mushishi (Bug Master), Dororo, Ghengis Khan and Otoko-tachi no Yamato on the Japanese Apple site has reminding of what kind fo things I love. Ideas are flowing and I am writing blurbs and paragraphs here and there.
I see it coming...
